Job summary

West Elm is part of Williams‑Sonoma, Inc. We are seeking a Store Manager to lead a high‑performing team in our New York store. You will drive sales, optimize payroll, recruit, interview and select candidates to build a strong pipeline for current and future goals.

You’ll train and motivate associates through sales, service and product knowledge programs, develop talent, and provide ongoing feedback while ensuring world-class customer experiences and store standards are upheld.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years management experience in specialty retail.
  • Proven ability to manage staff to meet and exceed sales while meeting payroll goals.
  • Proven ability to identify top talent and train/develop/retain great people.
  • Proven ability to think through complex issues and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the General Manager, ensure store meets or exceeds sales and contest goals.
  • Meet payroll goals based on current trends.
  • Prioritize, plan and adjust schedules and daily agendas to meet business goals; hold team accountable to achieving goals.
  • Recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates to build a talent pipeline.
  • Train and motivate associates through ongoing programs in sales, customer service and product knowledge.
  • Develop associates to assume increased levels of responsibility.
  • Assess performance and provide ongoing feedback; deliver performance appraisals and development plans.
  • Maintain presence through effective floor management and ensure staff coverage in all areas of the store.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure ongoing safety training and awareness.
  • Ensure store standards are met and maintained (visually, cleanliness, signage, safety).
  • Manage store-operating procedures (inventory levels and cash control) to minimize losses.

This role offers a competitive compensation package including pay and benefits.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc.The anticipated pay range for this role will be: $71,000.00-$84,000.00 annual salary.
