Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Image Build & Release to own the systems turning source code into secure, signed container images. Remote role in the United States, focused on improving release reliability and security across the platform team.

You will lead CI/CD pipelines, enforce image hardening, collaborate with OTA services for image updates, ensure reproducibility, mentor engineers, and manage build infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building CI/CD for containerized apps.
• Docker-based image construction with multi-stage builds.
• Image signing and scanning with Cosign/Trivy.
• Experience scaling CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
• Deep Kubernetes image management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the CI/CD pipeline for container images from source to signed artifact.
• Define image hardening and security strategies to ensure compliance before shipping.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Image Build & Release to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will own the systems and processes that turn source code into secure, signed, and production-ready container images. You will partner closely with engineering teams to improve release reliability, strengthen build security, and ensure delivery pipelines scale with the needs of the broader platform organization. The position is highly cross‑functional, with direct impact on image integrity, release confidence, and operational resilience.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $229,500 – $260,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and own the CI/CD pipeline for container images from source to signed artifact
• Define image hardening and security strategies to ensure compliance before shipping
• Collaborate with the OTA Services team to create a reliable delivery mechanism for image updates
• Establish standards for build reproducibility and release gating for the Client Platform team
• Mentor engineers through code and design reviews, providing guidance on complex systems issues
• Manage the build and release infrastructure, addressing pipeline failures and delivery incidents

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on build systems and CI/CD for containerized applications
• Expertise in Docker and container image construction, including multi-stage builds and image hardening
• Experience with image signing and scanning tools like Cosign and Trivy
• Proven ability to build and operate CI/CD pipelines at scale using tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes and its image management processes
