Job summary

CLEAR is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy scalable solutions for its identity platform (CLEAR1). You will own cross-functional projects end to end, collaborating with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations to translate business problems into robust technical solutions.

Ideal candidates have 9+ years of experience, strong fundamentals in distributed systems and APIs, and proven expertise with cloud-native apps on AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals across distributed systems, APIs, cloud infra.
• Experience building cloud-native apps with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD.
• Proven history of owning cross-functional projects end-to-end.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence.
• Comfort in ambiguous environments; drive for results.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable applications powering CLEAR1.
• Own projects end to end from discovery to rollout and support.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Ops to translate problems into scalable solutions.
• Anticipate failures, dependencies, and recovery paths under scale.
• Incorporate quality, observability, and safe rollout practices from start.
• Guide architectural direction and improve platform security and maintainability.
• Mentor teammates and drive improvements through action.
