Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a seasoned backend software engineer to design, implement, and operate highly available services powering our growth notification platform. You will own end-to-end architecture for Growth Notification systems and drive technical direction for the Growth Notifications team.

You will collaborate across product and platform teams to integrate upstream signals and downstream use cases, mentor engineers, and raise the bar on reliability, observability, and scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of post-Bachelor's software development experience, or equivalent advanced degree.
• Experience designing, building, and operating backend services at scale.
• Proven record owning highly available, mission-critical systems.
• Strong foundation in system design (APIs, data models, storage, pub/sub, queues, workflows).
• Mentor and uplift engineers.

• Own the end-to-end architecture for Snap’s Growth Notification systems
• Lead technical direction for the Growth Notifications team
• Collaborate across teams to integrate upstream signals and downstream use cases

Qualifications

• 9+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 8+ years of post‑grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 5+ years of post‑grad software development experience
• Experience designing, building, and operating backend services or distributed systems at significant scale
• Proven track record of owning highly‑available, mission‑critical systems
• Strong foundation in system design (APIs, data models, storage, pub/sub, queues, and workflow orchestration)
• Deep experience with observability (metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards)
• Ability to mentor and uplevel engineers
