Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of backend and full-stack developers in a fast-paced environment. You will build scalable infrastructure for large-scale data processing and set strategic roadmaps to drive delivery across cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, hire top talent, and collaborate with Product, Operations, Data Science, and executives to align technical direction with business goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of software development experience post-Bachelor’s, or 7+ years with a Master’s.
• Experience leading and managing a team of engineers for 1+ year.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems and data processing pipelines.

• Build infrastructure for data processing at Snap with large scale distributed systems.
• Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
• Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
• Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
• 8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 3+ years of post-grad software development experience
• 1+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
• Experience building large scale distributed systems
• Experience with big data processing and pipelines.
