Job summary

Helix is hiring a Staff Software Engineer - Experience to set the technical direction for the Experience platform and guide the Engineering organization. You will shape AI adoption, automate workflows, and mentor engineers while delivering patient- and provider-focused genomics software.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, scientists and business leaders to raise reliability, establish standards, and own end-to-end architecture in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of equivalent professional Software Engineering experience with impact at scale.
• Strong product engineering mindset; decisions anchored in customer/business outcomes.
• Experience driving AI adoption in engineering workflows with safeguards and evaluations.
• Proficient in distributed systems on cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Define strategic technical direction for the Experience platform and Engineering org.
• Architect, design and implement genomics-related software with patient/provider focus.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with product, design, scientists and business leaders.
• Mentor next generation of technical leaders and improve engineering standards.
