Onto Innovation, a leader in semiconductor process control, seeks a Staff Software Engineer to architect and develop software for EFEM platforms, wafer handling, and factory automation interfaces. You will design reusable components and integrate hardware subsystems within a scalable software stack.

The role emphasizes real-time design, HW/SW integration, and mentoring junior engineers, with opportunities to influence architecture, APIs, and performance across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years for Staff level in software development for highly technical applications including leading architecture/design of large-scale, mission-critical software systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead software engineer on new projects, determining requirements and a robust design, collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
