Plenful is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of the systems powering our AI workflow automation platform. You will own key backend components, mentor engineers, and collaborate with DevOps, ML/AI, Customer Success, and UX teams in a hybrid work environment.

The role emphasizes building scalable, reliable systems with fault tolerance, observability, and strong engineering leadership. You will shape the technical direction across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in professional software engineering.
• Strong background in distributed systems and workflow orchestration.
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines and APIs.
• Leadership: 3+ years guiding projects and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with DevOps, observability, ML/AI, and UX teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of core backend systems powering our automations platform.
• Own scheduling, queuing, rate limiting, retries, and reliability mechanisms across distributed tasks.
• Build robust state tracking, error handling, timeouts, and cleanup for tasks.
• Collaborate with DevOps for observability, logging, tracing, and deployment automation.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and pair programming.
• Participate in incident response, postmortems, and long‑term reliability improvements.
