Job summary

Plenful is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the systems powering our automation platform. You’ll own major backend components, scale workflow orchestration, and collaborate across DevOps, ML/AI, Customer Success, and UX teams.

You’ll contribute to reliable, high-performance data pipelines, integrate with external services, and mentor junior engineers while helping reduce technical debt in a remote-first, hybrid work environment with office presence in SF/NYC.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and workflow orchestration at scale.
• Strong SQL and database design skills.
• Solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design).
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines.
• Ability to own projects and collaborate across teams (engineering, DevOps, ML, UX).
• Proven track record improving reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Own backend projects from design through deployment.
• Participate in architectural discussions and drive reliability improvements.
• Reduce technical debt and improve operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews.
• Participate in incident response and postmortems focused on prevention.
