Job summary

salesforce.com, inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Desktop team. In this role, you will focus on building the Desktop Framework for Slack, enhancing performance and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will lead initiatives to improve developer productivity and be involved in architectural decision-making. Candidates with 10+ years of experience in client-side code and a strong background in Chromium or large-scale projects will be preferred. This position is based in San Francisco, CA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience writing client-side code for modern web applications.
• Deep experience with Chromium or large scale open source projects.
• Experience working in large-scale, shared codebases.
• Expertise in building complex systems and tooling.
• Exceptional communication skills tying technical work to company goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional initiatives to increase developer productivity.
• Contribute to key architectural decisions for new product features.
• Maintain and improve core systems powering the Slack desktop client.
• Build a safe space for learning and mentoring within the team.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to solve strategic initiatives.
