Job summary

Google Inc. is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Raxium Display Test group in Fremont. You will design and optimize distributed test infrastructures interfacing with lab hardware and software systems, ensuring scalable cross-platform workflows.

You will own latency, decompose legacy code, and drive deployment automation while leveraging C++, Python, and vendor SDKs to streamline data streams from imaging and display hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/EE/CE or related technical field.
• 8 years designing distributed test infrastructures for hardware-software integration.
• 5 years concurrent programming or asynchronous systems architectures.
• 5 years experience with communication protocols (TCP/IP or RPC).
• Master’s or PhD preferred in Engineering/CS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cross-platform build servers.
• Familiarity with C++ and GPU compute workflows; Python interfacing with compiled binaries or vendor SDKs.

Responsibilities

• Architect a unified, high-performance software ecosystem bridging instrument control, chip communication, and image processing pipelines.
• Own test cycle latency; optimize asynchronous execution and IPC to reduce bottlenecks.
• Lead architectural evolution from monolithic code to modular, cross-platform architecture; ensure maintainability.
