CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, build, and deliver cloud-based, distributed systems within Cost Estimation & Navigation AI. You will guide architecture across microservices and APIs, partner with product, data science, and engineering teams, and ensure secure, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes leadership in design reviews, implementation decisions, and adherence to regulatory and security requirements while delivering high-impact healthcare navigation

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering enterprise-scale software in distributed systems.
• 5+ years with Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript.
• 5+ years designing and operating cloud-based enterprise solutions.
• 5+ years building modern microservices and scalable APIs.
• 3+ years CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• 3+ years containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with AI/GenAI platforms in software products.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable software in Cost Estimation & Navigation AI.
• Guide architecture across distributed services, APIs, and platform components.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams on production solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and manage dependencies and tradeoffs.
• Develop cloud-native applications, microservices, and APIs.
• Define non-functional requirements including performance, availability, security.
• Evaluate architectures and improve reliability, operability, and cost.
• Lead PoC development and explore emerging technologies, incl. GenAI.
• Apply data/analytics knowledge for large-scale service integration.
