Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in the United States to deliver scalable platform capabilities and drive the full software lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 4 years' software engineering experience.
• Alternative: 6 years' experience in software engineering.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and API design is preferred.

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong experience in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, or C++.
• Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
• Skilled in data-driven decision making and problem solving to optimize engineering processes and product outcomes.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions to promote engineering excellence and sustainability.

Sunnyvale, California US-11349: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
