Job summary

BlackSky is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Command and Control, to develop software for mission management services. This role involves designing and maintaining software for the BlackSky constellation while ensuring high performance and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience, a strong background in Python and Go, and a commitment to delivering excellence in software development.

BlackSky offers a competitive salary range of $150,000-$180,000 annually along with numerous benefits including medical insurance, PTO, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant software development experience.
Demonstrated initiative to identify and solve problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain software for mission management services.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Proactively identify problems with requirements.

Skills

Fluency in Python

Strong understanding of Go

Software design and maintenance

Algorithm efficiency

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics or a computational field
