The position emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, cross‑disciplinary teamwork, and developing automation for testing and flight demonstrations. Onsite in DC, Boston, or San Diego with travel 30–40%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related technical discipline.
• Typically 7+ years with a bachelor's or 5+ years with a master's.
• Strong C++ and Python programming experience.
• Hands-on experience with embedded and real-time systems.
• Strong Linux skills and scripting ability.
• Familiarity with ROS or DDS middleware.
• Willingness to travel 30-40% for field tests.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration and deployment of autonomous software onto unmanned aircraft and flight platforms.
• Integrate software with onboard computing, sensors, avionics, communications, and vehicle control interfaces.
• Configure, build, and validate integrated systems in preparation for flight testing and demonstrations.
• Provide hands-on technical support during flight-test events, including system startup, readiness verification, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Diagnose hardware/software integration problems across embedded computing and autonomy environments.
• Support flight-test data collection, processing, and evaluation for performance improvements.
• Collaborate with software, autonomy, guidance/navigation/control, systems engineering, and test teams.
• Develop scripts, utilities, and processes that improve testing, deployment, diagnostics, logging, and integration efficiency.
• Contribute to system verification, documentation, airworthiness, and certification activities.
• Travel to company, customer, and flight-test locations as required.
