Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer – Audio Systems to join our team in developing the next- infotainment system for the Volkswagen Group.
This role will focus on real-time audio processing, DSP integration, and low-latency audio transmission in a multi-OS hypervisor environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ALSA, PulseAudio, SomeIP, RTP/RTCP-based streaming, and DSP communication for automotive applications. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing audio pipelines, ensuring seamless telephony, media, and navigation audio handling, and working on audio clock synchronization (gPTP, PTP).
Experience with automotive audio architectures, multi-channel audio routing, and embedded Linux development is required. This position involves close collaboration with DSP engineers, Linux and Android teams, and vehicle networking experts to deliver a high-performance, low-latency audio experience. Compensation
Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, credentials or certifications, industry-based experience, qualification and training. In the city of Mountain View, California, the salary range for this position is $157,000 - 219,667.
