Job summary

Google DeepMind, a pioneer of general-purpose learning agents, seeks a Software Engineer to advance large-scale AI systems and agent testing across games and physics simulations. You will build visualization tools, run agent leaderboards, and test new algorithms on robots, joining a mission-driven team.

As part of a team exploring Discovery and Gemini initiatives, you will collaborate with ML researchers, engineers, product, and UX to translate complex requirements into robust software,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, systems programming, or applied ML engineering.
• 5 years of experience designing and launching large-scale production software products or foundation AI systems.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases.
• 3 years of experience leading software design and system architecture for high-throughput distributed systems, foundation model runtimes, or client applications.
• 3 years of experience with performance, system architecture, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy high-quality consumer product features across web, mobile (iOS/Android), or backend services.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Research teams to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical solutions.
• Develop simple, reusable, and scalable code libraries and frameworks to accelerate product development.
• Iterate rapidly on product prototypes and features, balancing development velocity with a high standard of code quality and craft.
