Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead scalable platform capabilities, including cloud-native infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks, aligned with strategic roadmaps. The role requires technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-team collaboration to deliver high-quality, maintainable software supporting business goals.

You will drive full development lifecycle activities, design reviews, and adoption of modern technologies while partnering with data science and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field and 4 years’ software engineering experience (Option 1).
• Option 2: 6 years’ software engineering experience.
• Master’s degree with 2 years' experience preferred for advanced specialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks.
• Own full software lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure architectural alignment and quality.
• Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices for sustainable architecture.
• Translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement through code quality and innovation.
