Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, build, and deliver cloud-based solutions in a distributed system environment on Google Cloud Platform. You will contribute across architecture, system design, and implementation to enable scalable, reliable healthcare navigation and cost-estimation capabilities.

You will lead diverse teams, drive technical design, ensure security and regulatory compliance, and mentor engineers while exploring AI/GenAI opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering enterprise-scale software in distributed systems.
• 5+ years with one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript).
• 5+ years designing, building, and operating cloud-based enterprise solutions.
• 5+ years designing and developing modern microservices and scalable APIs.
• 3+ years CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps.
• 3+ years containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI/GenAI platforms and applying intelligent capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions within the Cost Estimation & Navigation AI portfolio.
• Drive architecture and technical design across distributed services, APIs, and platform components.
• Partner with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate business priorities into production-ready solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across complex initiatives by guiding implementation decisions and dependencies.
• Design, build, and enhance cloud-native applications, microservices, and APIs.
• Define non-functional requirements including performance, availability, failover, scalability and security.
• Evaluate architectures and improve reliability, operability, flexibility, and cost efficiency.
• Lead PoCs and explore emerging technologies including AI/GenAI capabilities.
• Apply data and analytics technologies including orchestration, non-relational stores, caching, and large-scale service integration.
