Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Agents, Workspace group in Sunnyvale, CA. You will own advanced ML-driven software initiatives, lead cross-functional teams, and shape the Agentic architecture across Workspace products.

The role emphasizes solving ambiguous problems, influencing stakeholders, and delivering scalable, high-quality software at Google's scale. Candidates should have a strong background in software development (C++, Python) and extensive experience with ML design,

Qualifications

8 years of experience in software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Python).
5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
2 years of experience with state of the art GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or GenAI concepts.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
Clarify and solve ambiguous technical issues by collaborating with leadership and cross-functional partners to integrate Agentic infrastructure.
Partner with Workspace vertical teams to drive engineering excellence and scalability.
Develop the technical goals and roadmap for our Agentic future, balancing immediate product needs with long-term health of autonomous protocols.
