Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Software Engineer for the Ads Signals & Targeting team in the United States. You will develop and enhance our ads targeting and audience capabilities, leveraging signal sources to enable precise delivery while protecting member data and privacy.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, design, and business colleagues to deliver complex features with substantial business impact in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building distributed systems, core backend infrastructure, or high-throughput platforms.
• Leadership at L6/Staff/Principal level, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and delivering complex features with business impact.
• Experience simplifying or consolidating privacy systems across teams, including sunsetting solutions that no longer serve the business.
• Professional experience in designing and building user and contextual signals and audience targeting features for ad platforms.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar, with strong software development principles.
• Experience developing distributed cloud-based applications and proficiency in modern object-oriented languages.
• Proven experience handling data at very large volumes with big data tools like Spark, building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
• Mentoring engineers within and beyond the team and influencing roadmaps through business impact.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of the ad tech and advertising landscape, including programmatic advertising and digital marketing trends.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for cross-functional collaboration.
