Job summary

Anthropic is looking for a software engineer to join the Account Abuse team. You will build systems that gather and analyze signals at scale, balance tradeoffs, and coordinate with stakeholder teams across the company.

The role requires turning insights into robust defenses, designing monitoring dashboards and alerts, and collaborating with data scientists to understand usage patterns and with Policy & Enforcement to maximize effective human review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable experience.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Think and respond quickly in a rapidly-changing environment.
• Jump into other teams’ code to identify signals or interventions with minimal impact on system stability.
• Integrate with third-party data-enrichment vendors.
• Create monitoring dashboards, alerts, and internal admin UX.
• Collaborate with data scientists to monitor usage trends and with Policy & Enforcement to optimize human-review processes.
• Build robust, multi-layered defenses.
• Lead root cause analyses and deep-dive investigations into account activity.
