My client is a well-funded, early-stage startup building cloud and data infrastructure from the ground up. Their systems support high-throughput services, real-time analytics, and developer-facing platforms. We're assembling a small, high-caliber engineering team and are looking for a Staff Engineer with deep backend experience, strong infrastructure instincts, and a pragmatic, hands-on mindset.

What You'll Do:

• Architect and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent) and modern CI/CD practices.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and workflow orchestration systems (e.g., Airflow, Temporal) to support internal analytics and platform features.
• Drive backend system design and implementation, with a focus on performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to internal frameworks and tooling that improve developer productivity and reliability across services.
• Lead technical scoping, prioritization, and execution for cross-functional initiatives.
• Proactively identify infrastructure risks and scaling bottlenecks and lead efforts to address them.

What We're Looking For:

• Proficiency in Python as a primary language, with experience writing clean, maintainable, production-grade code.
• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or similar), including compute, networking, IAM, and monitoring.
• Strong background in infrastructure automation and DevOps tooling—Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines and supporting tools for data movement, orchestration, and monitoring.
• A systems mindset: you think about reliability, scalability, and ownership at every stage of development.
• Proven ability to lead and execute complex projects with minimal oversight, ideally in startup or high-growth environments.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments or hybrid deployments.
• Exposure to data transformation tools like dbt, Spark, or similar.
• Prior experience working on internal platforms or developer tools.
