Job Summary

Merchant Engineering aims to simplify commerce through a comprehensive payment platform. Our customer-facing teams develop touchpoints across all stacks and channels for our merchants. We are seeking a talented Staff Software Development Manager with strong full-stack development experience to support our merchant engagement strategy, particularly for Partner & SMB segments.

Responsibilities

1. Own outcomes by developing and deploying technical and functional products and features.
2. Ensure deliverables meet timelines, quality, and performance standards.
3. Build and nurture the engineering team, supporting their career growth.
4. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and handle performance management, hiring, and talent development.
5. Offer technical guidance to engineers.
6. Apply best coding and design standards.
7. Identify technical improvements and build business cases for enhancements or new opportunities.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
2. 8+ years in software design, development, and architecture.
3. Led a team of at least 8 engineers for over 3 years.
4. Experience with software quality tools, agile methodologies, and high-traffic service design.
5. Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL solutions.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
7. Detail-oriented with multitasking abilities and adaptability to new technologies.
8. Experience coaching engineers and collaborating with remote teams.
9. Preferably experienced in payments or finance industries.
