Job summary

Palo Alto Networks, Inc. is seeking a Principal SQA engineer to validate core networking and security features in the SD‑WAN team. You will work with a multi‑functional engineering team to solve customer problems and drive product quality.

You will lead end‑to‑end validation, collaborate with development and QA groups, and mentor team members while helping improve QA processes. Based in Santa Clara, CA, this role emphasizes automation with Python and networking expertise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a BS or MS degree.
• Expertise with TCP/IP protocols such as ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP and IPSec VPNs.
• Expertise in testing enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Expertise in networking features like Multicast, IPv6, DNS, NAT & DHCP.
• Expertise in Linux platform testing on x86 architectures.
• Experience with control/data plane architecture in networking devices.
• Experience in performance characterization of networking products.
• Automation/Programming using Python and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, QEMU/KVM, Hyper-V).
• Ability to build and maintain complex networking testbeds.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non‑sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
