Job summary

Agile Space Industries in Durango, CO seeks a Staff Software Engineer/Architect to design and execute scalable platforms that capture and analyze rocket engine telemetry in real time. You will bridge sensor streams to cloud analytics and lead a cross‑functional team to modernize legacy systems into microservices.

The role combines hands‑on software engineering with technical leadership, cloud deployments, and architecture decisions in a fast‑moving, mission‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in a Software Architect role.
• Proven track record of full-lifecycle product development across diverse tech stacks, legacy systems, and modern cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize enterprise-grade services and high-throughput backend APIs to support analysis of telemetry data.
• Own end-to-end cloud infrastructure design using Azure and/or AWS. Drive IaC and containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design architectures that integrate cloud platforms with real-time data-acquisition systems while meeting compliance requirements.
• Mentor senior and junior software engineers and collaborate with propulsion teams to improve operational systems.
