General Summary:

Skills/experience:

  1. Recent and relevant experience required in one or more of the following areas: Application processor, Modem Communication systems design, Experience in mobile technologies areas (e.g., WAN modem, CPU, camera, graphics), Experience in software design, development, and commercialization of System-level power features is required, and an interest in System and analysis is a must.
  2. Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, with the ability to work with spreadsheets and other custom tools at a detailed level.
  3. Other Professional Attributes and Desired Skills: Systems/HW background with a good understanding of microprocessor and common SoC hardware blocks (Interconnects, Display, Graphics, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  1. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for:
  2. Identification, analysis and triage of system level obstacles to optimize power.
  3. Chipset and system level power analysis and optimization for Qualcomm's Modem and Application processor solutions.
  4. Optimize power-efficiency and performance of present generation designs and help architect future products.
  5. Guide multi-function groups through the design cycle in realizing the power targets set forth at the inception of the project.
  6. Architect power efficient systems.
  7. Design of power features and work with a wide set of teams across the company (systems, software, hardware, etc.) in the productization.
  8. Customer interaction to advertise the capabilities of the chipset, and to understand and address specific power requirements.

Education requirements:

  1. Required: Bachelor's/Master’s in Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Preferred: Masters.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
  2. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
  3. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
