Job summary

Bloom Energy in San Jose, CA is seeking a Principal Security Engineer for a fully on-site role reporting to the Chief Security Officer. The position requires a 5‑day workweek and active leadership in security operations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field and 12+ years of cyber security experience, with hands-on knowledge of malware, the kill chain, and security tools. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, Computer Security or equivalent.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in cyber security.
• Basic understanding of Malware, CIA triad, Cyber Kill Chain, Networking.
• Basic knowledge of information security concepts, network devices, security devices, server security, application security, etc.
• Formal cybersecurity training or certifications in incident response or related fields is a plus.
• Ability to work a shift schedule.
• Excellent social, communication, and writing skills.
• Keen to learn new security technologies and grow in the information security field.

Responsibilities

• Keep the team updated with the latest cyber‑attacks and security tools.
• Maintain, manage, improve and update security incident process and protocol documentation (Run Book).
• Drive work effectively as part of a team using strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation

Salary range: $178,800.00 – $257,200.00 per year. Total compensation includes standard company benefits and is based on relevant skills and experience.
