Job summary

Google Inc. is hiring a Staff Security Engineer for the Google Distributed Cloud, Federated Security team.

The role focuses on securing product security across GDC with scope across multiple security domains, including AI security, vulnerability research, and SDLC integration. Responsibilities include security reviews, tooling development, and guiding engineers to reduce risk, with opportunities to influence product security direction across Google Distributed Cloud and partner teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
• 8 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
• 8 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• 3 years of experience with Cloud Security.

Responsibilities

• Lead product security as a horizontal domain or product vertical SME.
• Develop security reviews and threat modeling across GDC products.
• Collaborate with product teams to embed security in SDLC and design patterns.
• Leverage AI tooling to assist SDLC reviews, vulnerability research and risk analysis.
• Provide security guidance and reviews for engineers across teams.
