Job summary

Compa in Irvine, CA is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to design and implement secure, governable AI tooling for enterprise-scale use. You will build the identity, data, endpoint, and network foundations and drive security best practices across the product suite.

As a senior security engineer, you’ll evaluate threats, enforce policy, and enable teams to adopt AI tools securely while maintaining privacy, compliance, and trusted operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security engineering with a security-first approach.
• Experience designing or securing AI systems or integrations (agents, tool use, MCP).
• Deep identity and access architecture knowledge (SAML, OIDC, MFA, privileged access).
• Securing endpoints and SaaS, device posture, audit logging.
• Strong cloud and network security fundamentals; threat awareness across identity, endpoint, cloud, SaaS.

Responsibilities

• Build the secure foundation for AI at Compa across identity, data, endpoint, SaaS, and network.
• Make secure adoption the fast path for teams using approved AI tools.
• Own requests end to end: define requirements, design, implement, and production support.
• Secure non-human identities and agent access with scoped credentials and least privilege.
• Govern data paths with classification, retrieval controls, and egress controls; assess third-party models and vendors.
• Threat modeling: map attack paths for models, agents, and integrations; balance security and usability.
• Build detection and response: audit logs, anomaly detections, and automatic enforcement.
• Raise Compa's security posture across identity, endpoint, SaaS, cloud, and network.
