Job summary

Flow Engineering is seeking a Staff Software Engineer focused on security to own the security architecture and harden the platform for defense, aerospace, and other customers. You will lead security for AI and agentic workflows, define controls, and drive compliance posture across the stack.

You will collaborate with product, sales, and engineering to ensure secure, scalable solutions while building out monitoring, threat modeling, and incident response capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production software and securing services at scale.
• Experience in application and cloud security (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with IAM, secrets, and data protection.
• Proven track record owning SOC 2 and security in regulated/high-trust environments; ITAR/FedRAMP a plus.
• Strong threat modeling, secure architecture, and incident response skills.
• Experience securing AI/LLM systems and leading security in startup contexts.

Responsibilities

• Own security architecture across the platform, including threat modeling and secure design reviews.
• Harden the full stack: application security, cloud infra, identity, network, secrets, and data protection.
• Drive SOC 2 readiness and certifications for defense and aerospace customers (export control, ITAR).
• Secure AI/agentic systems: prompt injection, data leakage controls, and guardrails.
• Build security tooling for detection, monitoring, vulnerability management, and CI/CD.
• Stand up incident response and run postmortems from detection through remediation.
• Collaborate with sales and product to pass security reviews and win customers.
