Job summary

The Yale School of Medicine’s CCMI Electron Microscopy Core Facility seeks a highly motivated individual to join a collaborative team supporting a broad range of biological EM applications. You will engage in the full workflow from specimen prep to image analysis and share responsibilities with staff and researchers in a service-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong biology background, is detail-oriented, and can work independently after training while handling multiple tasks

Qualifications

• Experience with sample preparation for microscopy and a biology lab setting.
• Familiarity with cell biology and imaging techniques.
• Ability to work independently after training and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• User Training: Provide technical training and guidance to users of the research core.
• Experiment Support: Contribute to experimental design, execution, data analysis, and troubleshooting for research projects using established protocols within the research core.
• Facility/Instrument Support: Support research core operations, including specialized equipment maintenance.
• Technique Development: Optimize experimental protocols and workflows.
• Data Analysis/Interpretation: Analyze and interpret complex scientific data.
• Equipment Procurement: Assist in the installation and maintenance of specialized research core equipment.
• Professional Development: Stay updated with relevant scientific literature and advancements in the field; participate in conferences.
• Scientific Participation: Collect and analyze scientific data for manuscripts and grant proposals.
• Vendor Relations: Maintain vendor relationships and collaborate on procurement.
• Education and Outreach: Participate in tours and events within the core.
