The role focuses on geological and environmental work for the oil and gas sector, with due diligence, site assessments, remediation, and documentation tasks guided by senior staff. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers and scientists, prepare technical reports, and help ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in geology or related field; 0–5 years of experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Earth, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Review scopes and complete tasks on environmental projects.
  • Assist in data gathering, reporting, and document preparation.

Position Summary:

Entry to Mid-Level Geologist/Environmental Scientist: This position involves a variety of technically complex assignments performed under supervision and requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and initiative. Responsibilities include geological and environmental work associated with the oil and gas industry, including due diligence, site assessment, remediation, and reclamation activities, as well as the preparation of technical reports and supporting project documentation. Projects are primarily based in New Mexico and are conducted in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and standards.

Essential Job Functions:

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

  • Review, comprehension, and completion of work scopes.
  • Perform project tasks on public and private sector environmental projects.
  • Assist in preparation of subcontract documents, work plans and reports under direction of senior engineers and scientists.
  • Assist in data tabulation and evaluation.
  • Assist with technical writing reports and preparation.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in geology or a related area; entry-level up to five years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Earth, and Adobe Acrobat software.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other technical professionals.
  • Clean driving record is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training, preferred.
Physical Requirements:

This position primarily involves office work and requires the ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and telephone. The role may also require occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying light materials up to 20 pounds.
