The successful candidate will work on a variety of environmental site investigation and remediation projects at industrial, commercial, and government sites and conduct site assessments for real estate transactions. Duties will include performing routine, well-defined field and office assignments (technical and non-technical) including planning, conducting, and reporting on field investigations involving well installations, soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer testing, and hydrogeology. Work may be conducted under a variety of regulatory programs (Oil and Gas, UST, Brownfields) throughout the region. The position will receive detailed instructions and close supervision, with increasing independence as experience grows.
This position may require strenuous fieldwork under varying site and weather conditions, including standing, crouching, sitting, lifting equipment and sample coolers weighing 1 to 50 pounds, moving soil with shovels or hand augers, and potential exposure to natural and chemical hazards. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work will be split between the office and field. Hybrid or remote office work may be available depending on candidate location and project needs. Field work will primarily occur throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia, with periodic overnight travel required. Field work will be primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions and may require wearing FRC clothing. No relocation costs will be provided.
