Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Formulations Manager for the Rockets Motor Systems group to lead a small team of formulators in propulsion programs for defense and space applications. The role requires deep knowledge of propellant chemistry and hands-on leadership of a technical team.

The ideal candidate has experience with energetic materials, solid propellant manufacture, and prior functional management. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship is required as this position will access export-controlled and sensitive data.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to solve complex problems.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3-5 formulators in executing production, development, and research propellant programs.
• Maintain compliance of acceptable explosive sensitivity limits for safe scaleup and manufacture of multiple formulations.
• Manage group budget and allocate resources for critical contracts and efforts.
• Regularly create new processes and procedures and implement them across the business line.
• Provide approval for business-critical functions such as SOW accuracy, energetic operations safety, material acceptance & compatibility, and capex decisions.
