Job summary

Mytra’s robotics team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to advance motion control, task execution and safety across our robotic fleet. You will own firmware development through the product lifecycle and collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver reliable real-time embedded systems.

This on-site Brisbane, AU role emphasizes leadership, architecture, and hands-on development across the stack, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability in a fast-moving robotics

Qualifications

• BS in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with C/C++/Rust and system level environments.
• Strong experience with Python, particularly focused on application and process level development.
• Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into actionable incremental progress in a continuous integration development environment.
• Experience coding in concurrent and multithreaded environments.
• Understanding of electromechanical systems, kinematics, and robotics control.
• Experience with network communication technologies, including CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and pub/sub frameworks like NATS.
• Understanding of how hardware changes affect robotics software and vice-versa.
• Understanding of Git and software version management.
• Strong knowledge of software design and maintainability patterns.
• Preferred experience in embedded software and/or firmware development.
• Ability to fluently interpret system data to root cause logged faults and build robust diagnostic tools.

Pay Notice:

Compensation for this position will be set based on the candidate's experience level and location. The posted salary band is applicable only to the San Francisco Bay Area and is subject to change.

This role requires on-site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters, for close collaboration with the other teams.
