YOUR ROLE

As the Staff Robotics Engineer at Four Growers, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge algorithms for our harvesting robot and analytics platform. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers and researchers to enhance our product through advanced real-time, collision-free planning techniques.

What you’ll do:

1. Design and build robust and scalable frameworks that enable rapid exploration and evaluation of different motion planning approaches and perception algorithms.
2. Research, develop, implement, and productionize state-of-the-art 3D planning algorithms, environment modeling techniques, and collision-aware kinematics.
3. Interface with perception, robotics, and controls engineers to create a complete, real-time robotic harvesting solution.

NEEDED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 6+ years of research and development experience in robotics, motion planning, or perception.
• Deep understanding of the mathematical fundamentals of various algorithms.
• Skilled in numerical optimization techniques.
• Experience with optimization solvers.
• Proven ability to produce computationally efficient software capable of meeting real-time requirements.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability with a commitment to high-quality software delivery.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

HELPFUL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with perception systems.
• Experience developing algorithms for time-constrained problems.
• Experience with robotic arms.
• Experience with machine learning, including deep learning, planning under uncertainty, prediction, and reinforcement learning.

NEEDED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BSc Degree in Robotics Engineering or related fields.

Travel: Required, approximately 1%, with potential international travel.
