Job summary

OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Staff RN for Outpatient Surgery. This full‑time 32‑hour‑per‑week position requires a BSN and a minimum of 3 years’ recent Preop, PACU, Critical Care, or ED experience. The RN provides care to patients and families and collaborates with the health‑care team.

The RN delegates tasks per the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and participates in safety, quality and efficiency initiatives as part of a High Reliability Organization.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Nursing degree.
• Must hold a current registered nurse license from State of Ohio.
• BLS Certification.
• Must have minimum 3 years of recent Preop, PACU, Critical Care or ED RN experience

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and diagnoses health status in collaboration with the health care team.
• Identifies outcomes and plans nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
• Implements care and evaluates patient responses, updating the plan as needed.
• Participates in process improvement activities to improve clinical quality and safety.

Job Description Summary:

This Staff RN position is a full-time 32/hour a week position in Outpatient Surgery at Riverside Methodist Hospital. 3 years of recent Preop, PACU, Critical Care or ED RN experience is required. BSN required. This position provides nursing care to patients and families along the health-illness continuum while collaborating with the health care team. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the state statutes. The RN delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities And Duties:

• 30% Assessment/Diagnosis
• Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and or individual.
• 30% Outcomes Identification/Planning
• Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• 20% Implementation/Evaluation
• Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data.
• 10% Leadership
• Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• 10% Operations
