Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, OH is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the PCU at FMC Main Campus. This full-time night shift role requires providing high quality, family-centered nursing care and coordinating with physicians and the care team.

You will educate patients and families from admission to discharge, document the nursing process accurately, administer medications and treatments, ensure policies are followed, and keep equipment and supplies ready for patient care.

Qualifications

• The nursing program must be accredited and lead to nursing licensure.
• Active Ohio nursing license required to practice.
• CPR certification is mandatory.
• Previous nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care based on a family centered approach.
• Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process.
• Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process.
• Works closely with physicians and other team members addressing patient/family concerns to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner.
• Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with FMC policies and procedures.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.

Completion of an accredited nursing program, resulting in one of the following:

• Diploma in Nursing
• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.

Must be able to physically exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
