Job description

Introduction

We are more than a health system; we are a belief system. We believe wellness and sickness are both part of a lifelong partnership, and that everyone could use an expert guide.

We work hard, care deeply, and reach further to help people uncover their own power to be healthy. We inspire hope, learn, grow, and achieve more – in our careers and in our communities.

Job Description Summary

We are excited to deliver our innovative comprehensive team approach to patient care. The unit is medical‑surgical. A comprehensive charge nurse, pharmacist, transition of care nurse, resident, and physician round on each patient daily from 8 am to 11 am. All patients are seen by the same hospitalist on the floor. The physician rounds on the unit for a week at a time and then switches off. The unit also has 4 “Long Stay” beds for patients who require longer stays and meet specific criteria.

The unit utilizes RNs and LPNs, each adopting their own patient assignments, supported by Patient Support Assistants (PSAs). This model offers a unique opportunity to impact throughput and pilot innovative ideas for patient care.

This position provides general nursing care to patients and families along the health illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team. The holder is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
