Job Description Summary

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) following the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Provides professional nursing care services, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for assigned patients.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Assessment/Diagnosis: Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable (30%).
  2. Outcomes Identification/Planning: Documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes aligned with patient needs (30%).
  3. Implementation/Evaluation: Evaluates and documents responses to interventions and adjusts care plans as needed (20%).
  4. Leadership: Participates in process improvement activities to enhance clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
  5. Operations: Contributes to departmental operations (10%).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • BSN required within 5 years of employment
