Job Description Summary

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute healthcare settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing, delegating tasks to LPNs and UAPs according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, and providing professional nursing services based on department policies and standards.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Assessment/Diagnosis: Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable (30%).
  2. Outcomes Identification/Planning: Documents planned interventions to meet patient needs based on diagnoses (30%).
  3. Implementation/Evaluation: Evaluates responses to interventions, revises care plans as needed (20%).
  4. Leadership: Participates in process improvement activities (10%).
  5. Operations: Contributes to operational efficiency (10%).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree (BSN required after 5 years of employment)
  • Current Ohio RN license
  • BLS certification
