Position Summary

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care to patients. Services are for acutely ill patients with medical/surgical diagnoses or maternal child health, which are the primary reasons for admission. The nurse functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carries out established nursing procedures, and performs nursing care for patients with complex, multisystem needs. Demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and organization. Applies good interpersonal and communication skills to achieve customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.

Essential Job Functions and Core Responsibilities
  • Accountable to the unit Manager and/or the Director of the department.
  • Adheres to identified nursing standards of practice.
  • Demonstrates competence in critical behaviors for the assigned area annually.
  • Supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork, maintaining a positive attitude and relationships.
  • IV competency in IV therapy.
  • Demonstrates competency in medication administration and knowledge prior to administering medications.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Delegates nursing care appropriately to licensed and unlicensed staff, under supervision and within scope of practice.
  • Participates in organization-wide Performance Improvement activities.
  • Demonstrates the organization’s IRAISE values in all interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager, Director, or Clinical Lead RN.
Education

Minimum (Required): Associate degree in nursing

Preferred (Not required): Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Work Experience

Minimum (Required): Basic computer skills

Preferred (Not required): Current RN experience in the specific service or department, including one-year acute care experience.

Licenses and Certifications

Minimum (Required): Current RN licensure in California, BLS certification, ACLS certification when appropriate.

Pay Range

The hourly rate is $48.41 - $76.69. Factors influencing the offer include experience, education, skills, and organizational considerations.
