The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. The individual demonstrates competency in caring for a primarily adult population. This job description incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. Other duties may be assigned.
Clinical competence and experience in managing target patient populations specific to the area of employment.
Professional nursing knowledge acquired through graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, qualifying for licensure as a Registered Nurse. Non-BSN nurses with less than one year of RN experience must enroll in a BSN or higher degree program within 15 months of hire, completing it within 5 years (or 6 years for MSN, DNP, or PhD). Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Current Wisconsin RN license or multi-state license through NLC. AHA BLS certification required within 90 days; ACLS within one year.
