The Lead supports the leader by acting as a resource for staff and providers, assisting with daily operations, and coordinating training and orientation. Required skills include critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication, the ability to work autonomously, collaborate with others, act as a change agent, and manage conflicts. The lead RN can perform all duties of other ambulatory services RNs in their designated care area. Additionally, this nurse works collaboratively as part of the interprofessional team to provide patient and family-centered care. The nurse systematically collects and assesses data related to patient health to develop, execute, and evaluate the care plan, utilizing evidence to inform clinical decisions. They set goals and strategies for care coordination across settings, considering safety, effectiveness, and fiscal responsibility. The nurse delegates and supervises care according to WI Nurse Practice standards, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and maintains professional development.
Relevant clinical experience or interest in the care of specific patient populations is required. At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience is preferred.
Required: Nursing licensure. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Oncology RNs must have or obtain an oncology nursing certification or complete 12 hours of oncology-focused CE annually.
Current Wisconsin RN license or multi-state license through NLC. BLS certification from AHA or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
