Qualifications

• We are looking for an advanced degree holder with 5+ years IC design experience and RF/mmWave expertise.
• Strong understanding of analog, RF and millimeter-wave design techniques and EM analysis.
• Experience with front-end PA/LNA/switch circuits and packaging impact is a plus.
• Knowledge of verification methodologies and Verilog/VerilogA is beneficial.
• Experience with PLLs including PFD, CPs, dividers and VCOs is advantageous.

Description

We are looking for a Staff RFIC Design Engineer to join the Qorvo team in San Diego, CA. You will work in a highly co-operative environment to design highly-integrated microwave and millimeter-wave RFICs in state of the art technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills

• MSEE/PhD with 5+ years of IC design experience
• RF design experience in advanced silicon processes
• Deep understanding of analog, RF and mmW design techniques including parasitic modeling and EM analysis
• Solid understanding of front-end PA/LNA/switch circuits including impact of transition and package
• Familiarity of RF/mmWave beamforming architectures and circuit blocks (ie. phase shifters, VGA)
• Knowledge of verification methodologies including behavioral, analog, RF, AMS and basic Verilog/VerilogA
• Design experience in analog or digital PLLs with block level expertise in PFD, Charge Pumps, Dividers, VCOs etc. is a plus
• Experienced with LDO and power supply design for low noise is a plus
• Knowledge of packaging technologies and their impact on circuit design and ability to perform EM analysis on packages is a plus

• Knowledgeable about foundry processes and ability to perform trade-studies to select appropriate processes for specific RFIC applications
• Experienced in silicon characterization and debugging
• Proven track record of design for first time success
• Capable to mentor others in advanced circuit design and simulation techniques
• Experience with Cadence, EMX or other electromagnetic simulators
• Participates in defining design process improvements and implementation of such improvements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $108,700 - $226,800 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
