Northrop Grumman Space Systems Payload and Ground Systems Division is seeking a Staff RF Engineer Lead to oversee and lead the technical team in a high-volume ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) production program. As the lead, you will oversee and direct the technical team through different stages of the system build & test from electronics assembly, payload level, and space vehicle level.
This position will support our Remote Sensing Program (RSP) Business Unit, located in Baltimore, MD.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Knowledge/Familiarity with active ESA technology and associated electronics.
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills in working with a variety of stakeholders including customers, program directors, and technical team members.
Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team through FRBs (Failure Review Boards), ARBs (Anomaly Review Boards), ERBs (Engineering Review Boards), and CCBs (Configuration Control Boards).
Ability to troubleshoot flight hardware and test sets in conjunction with systems engineers and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts).
Demonstrating ability to make decisive calls on program path forward and present a solution path.
Team player who can lead and complete tasks as well as delegate as needed.
Continuous improvements on process and test plans based on requirement updates and as-measured data review.
Familiarity or ability to learn SAP System and Manufacturing process.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or related discipline with 12 years of experience, 10 years of experience with a master’s degree, or 7 years of experience with a Ph.D.
Knowledge of space program integration and testing including flight hardware performance testing, functional testing, and environmental testing as well as the associated test sets and test software.
Familiarity/Knowledge with ESAs, Receiver/Exciters, Modules, Antenna Systems.
Capability to troubleshoot hardware/production issues from bench to system level, and familiarity with test equipment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present effectively to both internal and external customers.
Familiarity/Knowledge in Mixed Signal Technology (RF, Digital, Controls).
Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team.
No clearance required to start, but must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret with a SCI.
U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Familiarity or ability to learn SAP System and Manufacturing process.
Experience using MATLAB, TCL, and Python.
Salary Range: $163,200 - $244,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
