Job summary

Lyten is seeking an experienced Staff RF Engineer to lead the development of RF metamaterial coatings from concept to prototype for next‑generation sensors. Based in Fremont, California, you will apply physics and engineering to design, fabricate, and evaluate coatings and meta‑surfaces, solving national‑level challenges.

You will build models and simulations with COMSOL/HFSS, mentor staff, and present data to support proofs of concept, with security clearance eligibility and collaboration

Qualifications

• Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelor’s with multi-disciplinary leadership experience.
• 1+ years building numerical models using COMSOL or HFSS.
• Proven application of electromagnetics/physics to solve complex problems.
• Proficient in C/C++ or Java, plus MATLAB or Python.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead research to develop RF metamaterial coatings from concept to prototype.
• Build simulations to model electromagnetic interactions with meta-surfaces.
• Mentor early-career staff and collaborate with sponsors on new programs.
