Squarespace is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to support and evolve the revenue systems—billing, payments and orders. You will oversee architecture for core monetization machinery and align technical strategy with business objectives in collaboration with leadership, product, strategy, and finance.

This hybrid NYC role reports to the Director of Revenue Systems and focuses on high-visibility initiatives while mentoring engineers to raise quality and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Own system architectural vision and design for critical areas of our business.
• Transform high-level system vision into estimated project plans for initiatives central to Squarespace’s strategy.
• Serve as technical lead and cross-functional liaison on business-critical projects, making and defending engineering decisions.
• Mentor engineers on the team to deliver higher quality with growing autonomy.
• Drive best practices for engineering excellence and technical leadership, influence design reviews and foster shared understanding.
