ChenMed is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Virtual Care for a nursing position in Portsmouth, Virginia.

The Registered Nurse, CareLine provides telephonic emergency triage and patient care advice for various health issues, counseling, advocacy, education, and referrals. This remote role involves on-call clinical advice within license scope, collaborating with primary caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

The shift for this position is:

- Tuesdays 1

- Thursdays 1

- Saturdays 0

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

• This is a PRN/Per Diem role requiring a minimum of 160 hours annually, with flexible scheduling.
• Includes nights, weekends, holidays, and coverage for PTO or absences.
• Connects with patients via phone/video, collects health history, records data, and provides assessments and health solutions.
• Monitors vital signs and patient conditions using available technology.
• Uses video to identify symptoms, analyze data, and determine appropriate outcomes.
• Collaborates with on-call PCPs, documents interventions, and supports telehealth practices.
• Ensures patient safety, documents care, and participates in quality improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Advanced business acuity and broad nursing knowledge.
• Exceptional customer service and professionalism.
• Up-to-date nursing competency and clinical judgment.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to build trust, collaborate effectively, problem-solve, and prioritize under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems.
• Willingness to travel locally up to 10%, work evenings, weekends, holidays, and to work at least 3 holidays annually.
• Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish/Creole is a plus.
• Requires independent judgment and decision-making.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA :

• Florida RN license and Nurse Licensure Compact required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross required.
• Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience in ER, Urgent Care, or Emergency Triage.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish required.
• Telehealth experience preferred.
